Behind the Scenes

Recording

Braden recorded "I Know" entirely in two rooms at his house with the small, makeshift studio that he built over the course of two years. The natural ambience stacked with dreamy production established the single well within bedroom pop territory.

Despite the band's use of home recording rather than studio recording, Voice Devoted's music does feature extensive production work. Hints of orchestra make common appearances, as well as do immersive ambient textures.

Influences

The band draws from a handful of diverse influences.

The band's intimate bedroom pop/indie has similarities to Clairo, while the band's vocal pop characteristics draw from Owl City. Amongst the band's ambient influences are liminal/dark ambient artists like .diedlonely, suffershade, and melowmark.

The band's yet-to-be-released heavier content draws from hard rock/heavy metal artists like Skillet, Lacey Sturm, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin.

Very heavy influences on the band's emotive and lyrical content, not to mention creative production work, include Flyleaf and NF.

Production

While Voice Devoted's music maintains fairly polished finishes, the tracks integrate layers of unique sounds over wide stereo leads, creating an integrative experience for listeners. Also of note, the band's creative use of guitar effects and studio conditioning flavor mixes differently than most industry-name artists, bringing a distinct new flavor to even the indie music scene.

The band's unique production can be compared to music artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Lacey Sturm, and Skillet.
